What is Netflix AI Discover?
AI Discover is a new tab on the Netflix TV app. Netflix says it is a place where a small group of members can try new ways to find their next watch.
The first experience is built around themes. You start with what you are in the mood for and narrow from there.

How does AI Discover work?
Each theme is previewed with a clip from a show or movie. Some match how you want to feel, like "Something Light" or "Scare Me". Others match your crew ("Family Movie Night") or your time ("Quick Watches").
Choosing a theme brings up matching recommendations. More specific themes then appear, or you can choose "Something Different" for a fresh set. Every title has a "Tune Your Recommendations" button next to "Play" and "My List", to keep a pick or ask Netflix not to suggest it again.
Netflix says AI helps create the themes you see and that it will explain your results along the way.

Netflix, in its announcement
Who can use AI Discover, and when?
It begins rolling out in the US to members who use Netflix in English on supported TVs. Netflix describes the first group as small and says it will open up to more people over the coming weeks.
If you have access, look for "Discover" with a red gem icon and a "New" label in the top navigation on your TV.

What does Netflix say about how it is powered?
Netflix says AI Discover is powered by a new intelligence layer it has been building, which responds to what members tell it in real time and keeps learning. If you say a recommendation is not for you, Netflix says it will remember that in AI Discover so it does not keep turning up.
Why does it matter?
Finding something to watch is a daily chore for many people. If the test works, you could spend less time scrolling and more time watching. For now it is an experiment for a few members.
What's next?
A wider rollout over the coming weeks. Netflix says your use and feedback will decide which ideas it keeps, improves or brings to the main Netflix experience.
