ChatGPT virtual try-on: see clothes on you before you buy

OpenAI has added virtual try-on to ChatGPT. A Try on button appears on product listings for clothes and accessories: you take or upload a selfie, and ChatGPT Images creates a picture of how the item could look on you. A new Favorites feature saves products to your ChatGPT Library. OpenAI says both are available in ChatGPT on mobile and web.

What is ChatGPT virtual try-on?

According to OpenAI's help page, a Try on button now appears on product listings for clothes and accessories in ChatGPT. You use it to see how the item could look on you, and the picture is created with ChatGPT Images.

How do you use virtual try-on in ChatGPT?

Select Try on on a product listing for clothes or accessories, take or upload a selfie, then view your generated try-on image. You can also upload a picture of clothing or accessories in a conversation and ask ChatGPT to show how the item could look on you.

Your reference photos are saved for future try-ons, so you do not need to upload them each time. You can change or remove them in Settings, under Personalization and Reference photos.

What are ChatGPT Favorites?

Favorites lets you save any product, or create folders to organise what you find, in your ChatGPT Library. To save a product, select its bookmark icon. You can return to the Library to browse saved products and folders.

Is the try-on picture accurate?

Not always. OpenAI says try-on images may not represent the product or your appearance exactly and do not guarantee fit or size. It tells shoppers to check the merchant's measurements, product details and return policy before buying.

Why does it matter?

Not knowing how clothes will look on you is one of the main reasons people hesitate to buy online. ChatGPT is used by many people to search for products, so a try-on tool built into it could change how they shop, as long as they keep the fit warning in mind.

What's next?

OpenAI's help page says the features are available in ChatGPT on mobile and web, but it does not list which countries or plans get them. Look for the Try on button on clothing results in your ChatGPT app.
