Open LoopNEWS

How we report

These are the rules behind every Open Loop News story.

Primary sources first

We build each story from the company's or government's own announcement whenever one exists, and we link every source we used at the end of the story. We only publish facts we could check on the day. Numbers, dates, names and quotes are copied exactly from the source.

Confirmed and Reported

Every story carries a label. Confirmed means the company or government announced it itself. Reported means only the media have it so far. When a confirmed story includes details that only the media have, we label that part Reported inside the story.

How we use AI

Our stories are drafted with AI from the sources we gather, then checked fact by fact against those sources. Our editor approves stories before they are published. We never invent quotes, people or numbers, and we never use AI to create images that look like real events.

Images

We use the images companies publish with their announcements, credited to them, or photos with licences that allow commercial use, credited to the photographer. When neither exists, we use our own typographic design. We do not use AI-generated images.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it as soon as we know and add a note with the date to the story. Every correction is also listed on our corrections page. Spotted an error? Email hello@openloopnews.com.

Independence

No one pays us to cover a story, and companies do not see our stories before they are published. If we show ads in future, they will be clearly separated from our stories.
