What is Personal Finance in Claude?
Personal Finance is a new part of Claude where you connect your bank and card accounts and ask about your money in your own words. Claude answers in everyday language and explains any term that is new to you.
Anthropic says Personal Finance has no ads or sponsored recommendations, and it does not offer credit cards, loans or savings accounts of its own.

What can Claude do with my accounts?
Ask "Where did my money go this month?" and Claude adds up your spending across the connected accounts and sorts it by category. In Anthropic's example, that comes to $4,309.37, with $1,024.51 going to food and drink.
Claude can also point to charges that hit twice, unexpected fees, or a bill that has crept up all year. You can ask what an APR is and have it add up the interest you were charged, or ask for a weekly spending chart, a calendar of what is due or a dashboard.

Is it safe to connect my bank to Claude?
Anthropic says access is read-only and that your accounts connect only when you sign in to your bank yourself through Plaid, a service that connects apps to banks. Claude does not ask for or see your bank password.
For the accounts you choose, Claude sees the bank's name, each account's name, type and last four digits, balances, credit limits and up to two years of transactions. Conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train Anthropic's models, and you can unlink an account at any time.
Who can use Personal Finance?
It starts rolling out in beta this week, on the Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the US. When you see Personal Finance in Claude's sidebar, you can open it, connect one account and ask a question.
Why does it matter?
Instead of opening every banking app, people can ask one chatbot about their money. That is useful, but it means giving an AI company read access to your accounts.
Anthropic warns that Claude can make mistakes and that the tool is not designed to give investment advice. It suggests you ask which transactions are behind a number and check important figures with your bank.
What's next?
Anthropic calls Personal Finance a first step. It says it is exploring how Claude can work alongside licensed professionals and regulated firms for bigger money decisions, and it invites banks, wealth managers and financial services companies to get in touch. It gave no date for countries outside the US.
Questions people ask
Can Claude move my money?

Anthropic says conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train its models. Anything you share outside the hub follows your privacy settings.
